St. Christopher’s the Hall School, Reception Block.
The new reception block at St. Christopher’s replaces two classrooms and a shared group space which occupied an outdated timber structure at the northernmost point of the site..
Our ambition has been to provide a legible, rational, light filled, flexible, and above all uplifting environment for young children to explore and enjoy every aspect of learning. To achieve this, the new building is configured to be as legible as possible for teachers, children and visitors, both internally and externally. The form of the building externally reflects the nature of the spaces within. Every internal space has a view of the spaces adjacent. Every space has access to natural light; and as many rooms as possible are visually connected via controlled internal vistas to the external environment.
